 t’s been months since Nigerian superstar singer, Davido declared himself ‘officially out’ from the singles club as he introduced his Girlfriend (Chioma) to the world. The buzz was massive, the vibe was positive and although it was a surreal moment for some Davido female fans who’d wished they were his ‘Chioma’, nothing could possibly stop OBO from shutting off all other advances from any other girl as he declared Chioma would be the lady he’d spend the rest of his life with. Then came the celebrity status for ‘Chef Chioma’ which was accompanied with brand endorsements, instagram verification and getting her own cooking show, (we don’t even wanna talk about the shopping trips or gift right now lol). While one would expect that the buzz over the beautiful couple had reduced, it seems such expectation is a very false one as a graphic designer decides to flex his creativity with the photo of Davido and Chioma which has now gone viral all over social media.

Nigerian superstar singer, Davido, has always shown he’s a wild one with the women. He could sing, rap and even dance to get the woman he desires until of course he leaves them to hang to dry. There have been many and there seems to be no stopping him- until a certain Chioma comes along.“He’s hooked and this is for real,” a member of his crew muttered in a chat with Potpourri. This is an affirmation of a post by another crew member of Davido’s team who said Chioma, the woman who has stolen Davido’s heart, is a wife of the crew and not just of Davido’s, because she takes care of the crew with her great cooking. It does appear the old saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, is what did the trick for Chioma.

Pronto, the OBO is not looking back and before Cupid could even gather his arrows together to make a deeper aim, Chioma is a Porsche to the good. That’s what Davido gave her as her birthday gift. Notwithstanding all the dirt being thrown at the girl, Davido has gone on to release a song and video to prove his love, with a cliché, ‘You have got to give your girl assurance’. The title of the song is ‘Assurance’ “There’s nothing like peace of mind. For the first time in a long time I’m actually at 100% peace”, Davido has said in one of his tweets and it is hard to disagree with him. Every member of his crew believes this is final as they have come to see Chioma as one of them. But should Chioma be listening to a certain Louise Poutha who says she would have a painful life, saying her reality now is sad as many other girls would want her man and they question Davido’s sincerity to marry her.

The media was agog last week with the news of Davido proposing to her and the latter accepting the proposal. But there’s a snag somewhere as Chioma’s family aren’t too charmed about the development and their reason is as valid as any family’s in the matter. According to a reliable source, Chioma’s father, who is a devout Seventh Day Adventist is not particularly pleased that his daughter has not been serious with her studies. Vanguard Ripples’ has it on good authority that the love struck girl who gained admission into Babcock University (a Seventh Day Adventist school) to read economics in 2012 is yet to graduate, when she should have completed the course since 2016. Chioma, once skipped a whole session because she was travellling around with Davido and had to defer her studies.For months now, she has not been attending classes. I can’t even remember the last time she was in school. The last thing I heard from her friends in school is that she’s not interested in coming back to Babcock. She’s travelled out of the country again and it doesn’t look like she’s coming back. A friend confessed to me that she told her she’s not coming back to Babcock, said a source who wouldn’t want her name in print. It was further gathered that her father has had a strict talk with her that she must finish school before embarking on any marriage plans. The devout Seventh Day Adventist parents are said to be pained about their child treating her celebrated love affair with the superstar singer as top priority over her education. It is public knowledge that Chioma and Davido are already living like they are married. Wherever there’s Davido, Chioma is sure to be there.
